About SARA NIEDER, LCSW, CEDS

About Me

Hello, I’m Sara Nieder, LCSW, a licensed therapist with nearly two decades of experience supporting individuals through trauma, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, relationship challenges, and life transitions. I earned my Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Denver and have worked across a range of medical and mental health settings, including hospitals, schools, and specialized eating disorder treatment centers.

At the heart of my work is the belief that each of us carries an innate inner wisdom—a compassionate, steady presence that helps guide us through life. At times, trauma, anxiety, depression, or overwhelming experiences can make it difficult to access that inner voice. My role is to help you gently reconnect with that wisdom, deepen trust in yourself, and move toward a more grounded, meaningful, and integrated life.

Therapeutic Approach & Areas of Focus

I approach therapy with warmth, curiosity, and deep respect for the human experience. My work is trauma-informed and integrates EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), somatic therapy, mindfulness-based practices, and integrative therapy. I understand that emotional pain is not only held in the mind, but also within the nervous system and body. Through this work, we create space to slow down, build awareness, and support nervous system regulation, allowing for deeper healing and lasting change.

I specialize in working with trauma, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, disordered eating, relationship and attachment issues, self-esteem, identity, and life transitions. I also support individuals navigating grief and loss, stress, shame, spirituality, and a desire for deeper connection—with themselves, with others, and with something greater.

Many of the individuals I work with find themselves in moments of transition, disconnection, or questioning, while others feel a pull toward deeper self-understanding and personal growth. Therapy becomes a space to feel supported, explore your inner world, and develop a more compassionate and connected relationship with yourself.

Philosophy of Healing

I view healing as both a personal and relational process. Rather than seeing struggle as something to eliminate, I understand it as an invitation into growth, awareness, and transformation. When we meet difficult emotions with compassion instead of avoidance, they begin to shift and soften, allowing space for greater clarity, resilience, and integration.

I believe that developing a relationship with all parts of yourself—including the parts that feel painful or hidden—creates the conditions for true healing. In this way, even challenging experiences can become sources of wisdom and depth.

Healing is not only individual, but also collective. As we heal within ourselves, that healing extends outward—impacting our relationships, families, communities, and the world around us.

Psychedelic Assisted Therapy

I am licensed in the state of Colorado to provide psychedelic-assisted therapy within a legal, ethical, and trauma-informed framework. I offer psilocybin-assisted therapy in collaboration with Rose Healing Center, a licensed healing center, and support clients through preparation, the journey, and integration.

This work is grounded in safety, intention, and trust in the process. During psilocybin sessions, my role is not to direct the experience, but to provide a steady, attuned, and supportive presence. I support you in turning inward, trusting your inner guidance, and allowing the experience to unfold in a way that is aligned with your healing.

At my core, I believe that each person receives what they need—whether that is insight, emotional release, clarity, or a deeper connection to themselves. My role is to walk alongside you as you learn to listen more closely and trust your own inner wisdom.

Looking Within

I believe that deep within each of us is an inner sage—a steady source of wisdom that helps us navigate life’s challenges. At times, trauma, anxiety, depression, or overwhelming experiences can make it difficult to hear that inner voice. Through a compassionate, body-centered approach that integrates EMDR, somatic therapy, and psychedelic-assisted therapy, I support you in gently turning inward, understanding what your body and emotions are communicating, and reconnecting with your innate wisdom. Together, we work toward healing trauma, improving relationships, and creating a life with greater meaning, clarity, and fulfillment.

Gratitude, Forgiveness and Courage

Embracing the wisdom within ourselves can open the door to gratitude, forgiveness, and courage. These qualities help us navigate life’s challenges and move toward the life we want to live.

A Personal Note

Outside of my professional work, I am a proud mother of three and love spending time with my dog, Reggie. I find grounding and renewal through yoga and time spent in nature throughout Colorado.

Whatever challenges you may be facing, you do not have to navigate them alone. I bring experience, compassion, and presence to the therapeutic process, and I am here to support you in reconnecting with yourself and moving toward greater balance, clarity, and well-being.
